Hiya!
Today's first net round yielded a young female Broad-winged Hawk, a bird that had only been banded once before now and that was all the way back in 2002. So, another pretty exciting morning here at Chico Basin Ranch!!
Other than that early morning excitement, it was pretty slow and we banded less than a dozen birds before the winds kicked up and we were closed by 10am.
This is the final week for banding here at Chico Basin Ranch, so please stop by if you're in the area.
