[cobirds] Prothonotary Warbler Update at Chico Basin Ranch (El Paso County)

Hiya!

I just wanted to let everyone know that the male Prothonotary Warbler that was banded today at Chico Basin Ranch (fee area) in El Paso County was resighted again in Holmes Grove twice this afternoon, the latest being around 3pm. Speaking of Holmes Grove, it was alive with birds this afternoon! Juncos and thrushes foraging on the ground; spizella sparrows in the grasses; woodpeckers, warblers, and empids in the trees; it was simply magical! We also incidentally caught a Hoary Bat in the nets today, so you really just never know what you're going to see when you come visit us at the banding station, which I invite everyone to do! We try to band every day weather permitting and nets are open by 7/730 and usually closed around noon. Hope to see you out there!
