[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies: Ridgway State Park Banding Station Update

Hello Everyone!

We have been banding at Ridgway State Park for the past nine days as part of an educational program. The season is wrapping up soon, and we would like to give an end-of-season recap on what we have caught here.

Thus far, 122 birds have been banded and about 700 kids educated! Some highlights include a few Virginia Warblers and a Yellow-breasted Chat.  A bounty of Hawthorne fruits near the nets have drawn in plenty of American Robins, Gray Catbirds, Western Tanagers, and Audubon Warblers. Though, nothing too rare for the season this year! Recaptures have included a few resident Black-capped Chickadees, one being at least four years old, in addition to a MacGillivray's Warbler of at least two years old.

With an excellent staff and beautiful weather, it has been a great season!
