Birders,
Spring migration is not quite done in southeast Colorado. This morning,
at Van's Grove on the NW side of John Martin Reservoir, I had a singing
Yellow-throated Vireo, singing Chestnut-sided Warbler, and singing
American Redstart. Within minutes of seeing these birds, it got quiet,
and I can't say for sure that the birds did not quickly move on. It was
cool, cloudy, with upslope east winds this morning, a possible reason
the birds were grounded.
