[cobirds] Pueblo birding 1-2 Jan

Hi all,

Since no one else reported anything on cobirds (just e-bird.org it appears) from Pueblo in the last few days, here is a quick update on what I saw, with other birders on 1 and 2 Jan 2015 around Pueblo.  There were lots of birders around Pueblo, the first four days of 2015, which is typical (and the lack of cobirds reports from out of town birders, is also typical, unfortunately).

1 January (am birding) at Pueblo Reservoir:
Red-throated Loon - 1
Common Loon - 5
Clark's Grebe - 1
Horned, Eared, Western Grebes
Double-crested Cormorant - 1
Bonaparte's Gull - 8
Thayer's Gull - 1 juv.
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 4
Glaucous Gull - 1 adult
Great Black-backed Gull - 1 adult
Sage Thrasher - 2

2 January at Pueblo Reservoir:
Long-tailed Duck - 1 male
Barrow's Goldeneye - 1 male, 1 female
Red-throated Loon - 1
Common Loon -  5
Clark's Grebe - 1
Horned, Eared, Western Grebes
Double-crested Cormorant - 1
Bonaparte's Gull - 2
Thayer's Gull - 1 adult
Lesser Black-backed Gull - 4
Glaucous Gull - 1 adult
Sage Thrasher - 1

2 January at Valco Ponds in Pueblo:
Ruddy Duck - 2
Say's Phoebe - 3
Bewick's Wren - 2
Lincoln's Sparrow - 1

After seeing quite a few mountain birds on yesterday's (3 Jan), Lake Isabel CBC, I made it to 101 species of birds for the first three days of 2015 (and all of them were in Pueblo County).

Good birding,

Brandon Percival
