David Chartier and I walked through all of Rock Canyon Picnic Area, below Pueblo Reservoir dam, on the north side of the Arkansas River this morning. We found some interesting birds for November. The best birds were five Rusty Blackbirds, also a Spotted Sandpiper, two Gray Catbirds, a Common Yellowthroat, and a Lincoln's Sparrow.
At the South Shore Marina at Pueblo Reservoir, we saw an adult largeish Lesser Black-backed Gull.
After David left, I decided to check out Pueblo City Park, where I happened to see Van Truan. He and I spent about an hour walking around the park. The best bird we saw was a male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker, toward the north east part of the park, that gave good looks. We also saw the usual things of late: Pygmy, Red-breasted, and White-breasted Nuthatches, Brown Creepers, Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Mountain Chickadees, Yellow-rumped Warblers, Townsend's Solitaire.
