[cobirds] Larimer County Iceland Gull (adult Kumlien's)

Among the 300+ loafing gulls on the water at Horsetooth Res was one adult Iceland Gull. I could only make out one blackish feather in the outermost primary - indicating "Kumlien's Gull". Otherwise, it was smallish, fairly white-headed, very pale gray on the back, and extensive white in the primaries. Just after I spotted it sitting, it took off (with difficulty suggesting some kind of wing injury) and showed bright white underwings with no gray at all in the primaries from underneath. All the gulls flew to the south end of the reservoir, circled up in a thermal, and were undoubtedly returning to the Larimer landfill for dinner. Other places to watch for this gull would be at Horseshoe Lake, or nocturnal roosts at Boyd Lake and Lake Loveland.
