Hello, Birders.
I did a Boulder County Big Day yesterday, Saturday, June 15th. My route, entirely on foot, was just over 25 miles, and I left my binoculars and telescope at home. Call it the BoCo Bare-naked Big Walk.
Selected highlights among 125 species included, in order of detection: Eastern Screech-Owl, Grasshopper Sparrow, Dickcissel, Bobolink, Eastern Warbling-Vireo, Willow Flycatcher, Orchard Oriole, Cassin's Sparrow, Cassin's Kingbird, nesting American Dipper, Eastern Phoebe, Snowy Egret, Wood Duck, Great-tailed Grackle, Black-chinned Hummingbird, Chimney Swift, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Red-eyed Vireo, Bushtit, Peregrine Falcon, and Type 2 Red Crossbill.
