Jon Rouse and I attempted to find the Pomarine Jaeger at Antero Reservoir on Sunday.
No luck!
Was amazed by the amount of birds on/at the reservoir!
Saw these:
Common Raven
Am. White Pelican
Horned Lark
Western Grebe
Horned Grebe
Ferruginous Hawk
Swainson's Hawk
Vesper Sparrow
Brewers Blackbird
Yellow-headed Blackbird
Red-winged Blackbird
Mountain Bluebird
Hooded Mergenser
Common Mergenser
Mallard
Cinnamon Teal
Coot
White-faced Ibis
Canadian Geese
Wilson's Phalarope
Western Meadowlark
Tree Swallow
Barn Swallow
Gadwall
Lesser Scaup
American Avocet
California Gull
Great Blue Heron
DC Cormorant
On our way back to Colorado Springs, we located the Mountain Plover that Mr. Drummond posted on June 17th.
We stayed on the public road, used a scope, did not trespass, did not disturb or approach any nests!
Saw the adult Plover with two fuzzy chicks!
A new life bird for Jon R.
