[cobirds] Saturday Manitou Lake Sandwich Tern

Hi cobirders. My son Bob took my Forester and me to Manitou Lake .
Left 9Am and arrived at Manitou Lake 10:30AM . Fee Area at the
picnic area. With my National pass $3.

Sandwich Tern found at 10:45AM in middle of Lake on stubby tree
limb. Saw it there and flying around the lake and back to its
favorite perch the tree stubs. There for
2 hours had picnic lunch and headed to Big Johnson Reservoir sw of
the Springs to find and see the Pacific Loon. Thousands of birds
there but needed to get back home.

Great day. Nice to get a state bird and also a life bird as I had not
seen one on the Gulf coast. My first state bird in over 2 years.
