Van Truan and I were looking around Colorado City, in southern Pueblo County this morning. While looking at some butterflies and dragonflies, etc., we saw a singing male Indigo Bunting at the Diversion Gate in Colorado City, and two Peregrine Falcons there as well. Last night, in the Wet Mountains, we saw a Common Poorwill, and saw lots of moths, which Van attacked to his lights and white sheets.
I also wanted to publicly congratulate Roger and Brenda Linfield, on finding the first for Colorado Sandwich Tern and Jeff Jones for re-finding it. Another crazy tern for Colorado: the Sooty Tern, three Royals Terns, and now a Sandwich Tern have all made it to Colorado! I'm guessing Elegant and Gull-billed Tern ought to be coming one of these years too.
Good birding,
Brandon Percival
