[cobirds] Fountain Creek Reg. Park - Annual Spring Bird Count, May 11

COBirders,

Beginner to advanced birders are invited to participate in the annual Fountain Creek Regional Park Spring Bird Count this coming Saturday, May 11, 7:00 - 11:00 a.m.  This park is located in El Paso County approximately nine miles south of downtown Colorado Springs and boasts having around 294 bird species observed.

We'll meet at Fountain Creek Nature Center at 7:00 a.m. to break into 5 smaller teams, we'll bird until around 10:45 a.m., then gather to share results. The nature center requests that participants donate $5 for birdseed. Refreshments will be provided.

If you are able to participate, please contact me by replying to this e-mail or by calling Fountain Creek Nature Center at 719-520-6745.

If you cannot participate on Saturday, May 11, we are still interested in count week sightings for the three days before and after the 11th.  So if you are passing through Colorado Springs while traveling to the CFO convention and stop by the park, please let us know what you see.

Good birding to everyone,

Ken Pals
Colorado Springs

PS.  The annual Bear Creek Regional Park Spring Bird Count is Saturday May 18, also from 7:00 - 11:00 a.m.  Either send an e-mail to me or call 719-520-6387 if you are able to participate in this count.
