Ask a Colorado birder, When is the single best weekend in the entire birding year? Where?
Many will say, Early May, Southeastern Colorado.
Folks, registration is now open for the annual Colorado Field Ornithologists Convention! This year it takes place May 2 - 5, and is headquartered at the Cow Palace in Lamar, CO.
Have you never been to a CFO convention? Then this is the perfect one to start an annual tradition! Birders just like you will be enjoying all that this convention has to offer including field trips to private ranches, numerous canyons and reservoirs, and even in-town opportunities like birding Lamar Community College where Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, and Mississippi Kites can be found. All in a town that offers affordable lodging rates and plenty of dining opportunities.
For more information about this convention including registration rates, field trips scheduled, and lodging visit https://cobirds.org/current-convention/ Hope to see you in Lamar!
