[cobirds] This Thursday - November 9th - Fort Collins Audubon hosts Heather Reider for “Understanding Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza: Where We Are Today”

I hesitate to post something not about the AOU decision, but if you need respite, why not read about the upcoming FCAS event on Thursday!

This Thursday,  November 9th, Fort Collins Audubon is pleased to host Heather Reider, Program Manager Colorado Avian Health CSU Veterinary Diagnostic Lab, for  "Understanding Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza: Where We Are Today"

In-person social time with refreshments starts at 7:00 pm; Announcements at 7:20 pm; Visual Presentation at 7:30 pm.

Those wishing to join an in-person viewing can do so at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree Dr.

"Heather Reider has a deep understanding of disease response, prevention, and surveillance testing for poultry and other avian species  She will present an overview of the history of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI). The talk will delve into the intricacies of the 2022 HPAI outbreak, detailing the challenges encountered and the response measures implemented. Concluding with a forward-looking perspective, the discussion will explore potential future developments in HPAI and their implications for both avian health and broader public health concerns.

Heather Reider is the Program Manager for the Colorado Avian Health Program at Colorado State University's Veterinary Diagnostic Lab.
