[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies- Chico Basin Banding Station 9/1/2023

Happy September! It sure Does not feel like Autumn weather to me. We had to close a bit early again today due to the heat. The banding station still has not had any recaptures since opening on Monday. Four new birds for the season including American Redstart, Lark Sparrow, Canyon Towhee, and American Robin. Robins are not a common sight at Chico. Five Warbler species captured including Tada! Wilson's, Yellow, Orange-crowned, and MacGillivray's Warblers along with American Redstart.
46 New Banded Birds
Wilson's Warbler- 22
Yellow Warbler- 2
Orange-crowned Warbler- 2
American Redstart- 1
MacGillivray's Warbler- 2
Western Wood-pewee- 1
House Finch-1
Chipping Sparrow- 1
Lazuli Bunting-4
Lincoln's Sparrow- 1
Lark Sparrow- 1
Blue Grosbeak -1
Western Tanager- 1
Swainson's Thrush- 1
Canyon Towhee- 1
American Robin- 1
Brown Thrasher- 3

The Banding Station will be open tomorrow from sunrise until probably 11 AM. Supposed to be another hot day. Have a  good weekend! Stop by if you are in the area.
