Re: [cobirds] Brown Pelican continues, Chatfield SP, Jefferson/Douglas counties

Please disregard my previous post about seeing the Brown Pelican flying!  I just looked at some of my shots and it does appear to be huddled near the white pelicans on the little strip of land near the beaver dam. We initially thought it was a rock.  So what did we see flying overhead?

Finally able to see the Brown Pelican today around 3PM from the overlook.  We thought we had missed it because it wasn't with the white pelicans near the beaver dam.  But I happened to look up at the right time just as it soared over us and then landed back into the water.  It was so very windy, but we're so quite happy that we ventured out!  Thank you to everyone who has posted about this bird.

The brown pelican is still present at the S Platte delta of Chatfield. Hunkered down with a group of white pelicans. decent views from east of the small parking lot south of the heronry overlook.

Good birding,
