So I arrived at 7:45, swept my scope over shoreline and open water. Noted the Ruddy Ducks, more BW Teal than yesterday, a flock of 9 Baird's Sandpiper , a lone Western Sandpiper and Snowy Egret as reported. Then, scanning the southern fenceline and poles for raptors I noticed a hunched form atop the Osprey platform. I zoomed in and saw the closed eyes of a dozing Bobcat. It had lain down upon the resident Osprey's nesting material way up that pole. During the forty plus minutes of observation it repositioned itself three different directions. Just before it took to ground it raised it hind legs and looked down at the closest prairie dog. Within several minutes it then very gingerly grabbed hold of the struts just below the platform and slowly descended the pole and soon disappeared in taller grasses. Carl , whose still in awe, Niwot
