[cobirds] Bird Conservancy Banding Report - Chico Basin Ranch, 9/17/19

More windy weather made today's banding a bit of a wash. With breezy conditions right from the start, we could only manage running a few nets for a brief period before we had to shut down. That yielded what I hope (knock on wood) will be our lowest banding total of the season, with 3 birds: 2 Wilson's Warblers and a Hammond's Flycatcher. Hardly worth writing as a list!

But such is the nature of field work. There were certainly seemed to be a lot of bird movement around the ranch this morning, so if the weather can cooperate perhaps there'll be some good banding activity ahead.

We are open 6 days a week, closed on Sundays. For the remainder of this week we'll be opening nets at 6:40 AM and if it's not too windy, closing at 11:40 AM. Visitors are welcome!
