RE: [cobirds] Storm impact on birds

The storms may affect the birds.  There is has been some discussion on this mailing list, I believe, in the past, that snow on the ground at higher elevations sends Rosy Finches to lower altitudes, and Red Rocks can be one of the beneficiaries of that.

Subject: [cobirds] Storm impact on birds

Hello,

I am new to Colorado (Castle Rock) and had a quick question. Do storms like the one about to come through tend to push down some of the higher elevation birds like the Rosie finches and grosbeaks into places like Red Rocks? Or, is it just another day in the mountains for them? :-)

Thanks!
