[cobirds] Snowy Owl, Larimer County

Folks,
Today, while scouting for the Jan 1 Loveland CBC, I discovered a Snowy Owl. It was quite skiddish and flew to a perch about 600 yards away on private land. I've provided the location to the sector leader who will look for it tomorrow during the CBC. Based on the experience tomorrow, we will determine the appropriate viewing protocol (if any may be required) and instructions for how to locate and view this rare arctic visitor.

I hope that we can cooperate as a cohesive birding community to ensure that the owl's presence is a positive one both for the Owl and people (birders/local residents/property owners).

Best wishes for a great New Birding Year in 2018!
