Former raptor bander, Susan Craig, asked me to report she had a Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) on Thursday, November 10, in Colorado Springs. “It was swooping around low over the shopping center at the SE corner of Constitution and Powers Blvds. This was about 2:00 p.m. on a bright cloudless day . I pulled out of traffic and bailed out of the car so I could get a better look with binoculars. I was able to observe the bird for about a minute before it caught a thermal and soared up toward the south and out of sight along Powers Blvd.”
