[cobirds] Harriman Lake etc, 11-8

DFO's field trip this morning to a few sites with lakes in the southwest Metro Area began with a visit to Harriman Lake. The three Harris's Sparrows were in the same place where I had them yesterday, and were very confiding. They were along the main road on the south side of the lake about 300 yards from the Kipling Parkway parking area. Look for the place where a wall of a water control structure abuts against the left side of the road. That is the area. 7:30-8:30 am has been a good time these past two days. Today they were lined up feeding along the road edge along with Am. Tree Sparrow, Song Sparrows and White-crowned Sparrows. Humble iPhone digiscopes are below. Another fun bird at Harriman was a singing Marsh Wren. And displaying Hooded Mergansers, and a nice cross-section of other ducks.

Hine Lake at Robert Easton had a Prairie Falcon. Things were pretty quiet at South Platte Park, where the birdiest lake was Bufflehead Lake. A highlight there was our only Nor. Pintail for the morning.
