Hello, Birders.
Along with the cool birds and insects, expect to see Pokémon Go players.
-- The City of Lafayette, Boulder County, continues its program of public bird walks on the first Sunday of each month. The Aug. outing will be this coming Sunday, Aug. 7. Start at 1pm at the observation deck at Greenlee Preserve. Park in the lots on the east or south sides of Waneka Lake, then walk to the preserve; or park on-street near the intersection of Salina and South Fork, and walk the very short distance to the preserve. The bird walk will wrap up around 3pm.
This outing, cosponsored by the American Birding Association, is free and open to the public. All are welcome. Several birding experts will join the group; if you don't have binoculars or a field guide, there will be loaners for you. To get a feel for what you might expect to see out there, check out:
