I will be leading a birding program for kids at Bear Valley Park in Denver through Denver Public Library, free and open to everyone. To us locals, it is known as the 'Hat Park' due to the large cement sombrero slide, 3550 S Raleigh St, Denver, CO 80236. Age group is elementary kids, but teens are welcome also. I have designed the program with the basic idea of getting kids excited about birds and in general about nature. Anything further will be deiced as the situation and participants demand. The Library has acquired two binoculars to share. We will be talking about bird basics for kids and how to observe them and what to look for. So if you have kids, grandkids or know someone who does the program starts at 6 PM Thursday, 8-18.
