This morning I observed a still-active Cliff Swallow nest with an adult visiting to feed at least 1 near-to-fledging nestling, located under the eave of a house near the equestrian center in Ken Caryl Valley. I think this is late for an active nest in the local area. The local breeders in Ken Caryl Valley had fledged young mostly by early July and have been mostly absent following the 3rd week of July.
-- This evening a Merlin was along Sante Fe Blvd near Mineral in Littleton, perhaps not early for the big perspective, but this was my first this season in the southern metro area.
