Free: Limited to 24, Reservation required at: piombino.pam@gmail.com
Leader: Plant Ecologist, Dr. David Buckner
Please plan on joining Dr. Buckner in the field for this special opportunity to appreciate and learn about local grasses and grassland ecology. This morning's outing will include short walks on the surrounding prairie. Participants are encouraged to bring hand lenses for a closer study of grass structures.
Dr. Buckner is a long time specialist in baseline studies of plants and soils and has been a leader in the revegetation and restoration of many variously disturbed sites.
Meet promptly at 8:45 at the parking lot on the northeast side of the East Boulder Rec Center, 5660 Sioux Dr, Boulder, CO 80303. We will car pool a short distance to South Cherryvale Road. Bring water, appropriate footwear, hats and the usual field gear. You may also want to bring a snack and any grass manuals you might have.
