A nice find on the way to Rabbit Mt. was a perched Broad winged Hawk in trees just after I made the turn off 66 onto 53rd St. The Eagle Wind Trail was closed again this morning but I was told by Boulder County Open Space folks it will reopen tomorrow. I walked the broad road that winds around to the east and had lots of Chipping and some White Crowned Sparrows, single Blue Grey Gnatcatcher , Lark Sparrow and 2 Green tailed Towhee. Just down the road as I was leaving a Loggerhead Shrike rose out of the grass to a low perch. My first since Quivira NW Refuge in Kansas last week. Good May Birding To All, Carl Starace Niwot
