[cobirds] Dillon Dam Road; Summit County, Colorado

5/19/16 While gathering BB breeding data below the dam this a.m. (11:00)
I saw my FIRST Barn Swallow.

reddish-brown throat

rich deep-blue (not irredescent) forehead and back

deep cinnamon brown entire breast area

Just an awesome awesome beauty.

It was preening on the telephone wires alongside a Tree Swallow.

I'm heading back there with a camera; hope to get an idea where it might be nesting if at all.
