Lifer! I heard and saw an American Bittern at Sawhill Ponds this afternoon. First I heard the gulping and then I saw the bird standing on a little hillock. When you park at Cottonwood Marsh it was at the 2nd pond on the left as you walk past the sign for Sawhill Ponds.
