MAGNIFICENT HUMMINGBIRD (*Boulder)
Red-bellied Woodpecker (Yuma)
White-eyed Vireo (Phillips)
Winter Wren (Kit Carson)
Sprague's Pipit (Yuma)
Chestnut-collared Longspur (Yuma)
McCown's Longspur (Weld)
Field Sparrow (Kit Carson)
Golden-crowned Sparrow (Yuma)
Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch (Denver)

ARAPAHOE COUNTY:
--A Red-necked Grebe was reported by Righter at Cherry Creek Reservoir from the east side south of swim beach on October 28.

BOULDER COUNTY:
--A f MAGNIFICENT HUMMINGBIRD was reported by Adam Jack coming to his feeders in Coal Creek Canyon on October 27 and 28.  If you would like to try to see the bird contact him for updates and directions at adam.jack AT gmail.com.

DENVER COUNTY:
--A Gray-crowned Rosy-Finch was reported by Matthew Baker on the far SW side of Sloan's Lake on October 27.
--A Surf Scoter was reported by Roller in the SE corner of Garsmere Lake in Washington Park on October 28.

DOUGLAS/JEFFERSON COUNTIES:
--On October 12, Dunning and many other birders reported Red-necked Grebe at Chatfield.  On October 18, Drummond reported that the Red-necked Grebe continues at Chatfield.  It was seen from the handicapped fishing area near dam wall, spotting scope is essential.  On October 21, Suddjuian reported Red-necked Grebe near edge of dam at Chatfield.
--On October 25, Kellner reported 2 imm Surf Scoters at Chatfield seen from the Heronry Overlook.
--An imm Red-throated Look was reported by Kellner at Chatfield seen from marina sandspit toward the dam on October 25.

KIT CARSON COUNTY:
--On October 19 at Flager SWA, Dunning reported Winter Wren and Field Sparrow.

MORGAN COUNTY:
--A Pacific Loon was reported by Kaempfer at Jackson Reservoir on October 26.

PHILLIPS COUNTY:
--A juv White-eyed Vireo was reported by Dowell across the street from Holyoke City Park on October 19.

WELD COUNTY:
--An ad Lesser Black-backed Gull was reported by Lefko at the Weld County Dump at CR 23 and CR 78 in the NE corner on October 21.  On October 24, Lefko reported 2 ad Lesser Black-backed Gulls at the Weld County Dump at CR 23 and CR 78.

YUMA COUNTY:
--A Red-bellied Woodpecker was reported by Dowell at Sandy  Bluffs State Trust Land on October 19.
--At "Pipit Hill" on October 25, Peterson reported a Chestnut-collared Longspur and 4+ Sprague's Pipits
--At Hale Ponds on October 25, Peterson reported a juv Golden-crowned Sparrow.

The DFO Field Trip for Saturday, November 1 will be Joey Kellner's Scoter Trip.  (vireo1@comast.net or 303-978-1748) Meet the leader at 0630 on the side of Deer Creek Canyon Rd just west of Wadsworth.  Search for migrant grebes, loons, and scoters.  Bring lunch and come prepared for all kinds of weather and wide variety of driving conditions.  A State Parks pass is reuired for drivers of carpooling vehicles.  Register on-line or call leader if going.

The DFO Field Trip for Sunday, November 2 will be to the Wheat Ridge Greenbelt led by Kevin Corwin.  (kevygudguy@aol.com 720-482-8454).  From I-70 exist 267, take kipling south about .0.75 mile and turn right (west) on 4th Ave.  Go one mile west.  Look for entrance to Prospect Park on you left (South).  Meet just inside the park in the lot right next to Prospect Lake.  Dress for weather and bring water and snacks.  Scopes are welcome.
