Hi All, Really nice warm breeze for a change and a good diversity of raptor/other species made for a pleasant morning at this park due east of downtown Longmont. Walking downhill from the upper lot I had 4 Western Meadowlark, 8 White Crowned Sparrow, and 2 Northern Harrier,[one a male" Grey Ghost"]. Down by the foot bridge,[ still closed], were 2 advancing Bald Eagle juveniles. Three more appeared over the tree line,[only one an adult]. There were a perched Coopers Hawk and Northern Shrike on opposite sides of the creek. Two of the juvenile Bald Eagles were soon joined by a Roughlegged and Red Tailed Hawk as they soared above the higher ground. I later had 6 Tree Sparrows and a fly by of 9 Horned Larks on my return uphill. Good February Birding, Carl Starace, Longmont
