Cranes are returning in good numbers. As of 2 days ago there were 500 birds. The water is running at the refuge now so many more birds expected each day. As usual, the best spots for observation are on 7s AND 3e, 8S, and west of Co hwy 15. There are quite a few raptors drawn to this spectacle with Bald Eagles, RL Hawks, Merlin, and Pr Falcon being seen nearby. A few Cackling Geese have also arrived. Lots to see.
