RE: [cobirds] Manitou Lake - Teller Co

I did mean to note breeding behavior in my earlier post.

·         Many Canada Geese on nest; one pair with 3 goslings.

·         American Crow pair built nest over a month ago at south end of parking lot; I had thought they abandoned it after wind seemed to destroy part of it; but today I find a crow hunkered down on the nest.

·         Northern Rough-winged Swallows were excavating nests in a bank.

·         Northern Flicker pair have been excavating a nest cavity and calling from that location for a couple weeks now.

·         Western Bluebirds on eggs in nest box.

·         Most waterfowl (Mallards, Gadwalls, Cinnamon Teals, Common Mergansers, …) that were in pairs in the last few weeks are usually only showing males on the lake and ponds now; indicating females are on nest now.
