[cobirds] Spring arrivals - Douglas

Saturday morning we looked out underneath the feeder and saw a stunning male Lazuli Bunting. By the end of the day, we'd picked out three different ones (by plumage; one had a pink-chestnut back and nap).

Then this morning, in about the same place, Urling spotted a new yard bird, a Field Sparrow. We had four sparrow species at once - Gray-headed Junco, White-crowned, Chipping, & Field.

Saturday the Walker Pit & trail (just west of Franktown) had quite a big variety of species -- 369 birds of 48 species. Four gorgeous Avocets, a Long-billed Dowitcher, a lot of Shovelers -- 64: 11 species of duck, 5 shorebirds, and a smattering of other, expected species.
