[cobirds] Rose breasted grosbeak - Boulder

All:
        Gregory Canyon am today:
 
male Rose Breasted Grosbeak - 1 - attempting to copulate with female grosbeak, and then fighting with a black-headed grosbeak.
 
Broad tailed hummingbird - dozens of males are now in display fights.  Numerous chases.
 
Yellow breasted chat - 11 - gathering nesting materials, singing.
 
Gray catbird - only 2
 
Black headed grosbeak - 12 - singing males, and females foraging
 
And.... yellow warblers, MacGillvray's warbler, Virginia's warblers, house wrens, dozens of spotted towhees, and lazuli bunting. 
 
Great horned owls - young still on nest sites in several locations around Boulder County
 
Common snapping turtle - at Twin Lakes this morning - very large individual crossing from one lake to the other (snapping turtles will take goslings and ducklings in the water).
