Another warm day, much like yesterday – It was relatively active early in the day, and then just died as the heat set in. Here’s a breakdown of the 22 birds caught for the first time this season:
Dusky Flycatcher 1
Red-breasted Nuthatch 1 (First ever at this station!)
House Wren 3
Grey Catbird 1
Orange-crowned Warbler 1
Yellow Warbler 3 new, 2 recaptures, including one banded last year and one banded in 2009
Common Yellowthroat 1
Yellow-breasted Chat 2 (FOS)
Spotted Towhee 2
Red-winged Blackbird 3
Brown-headed Cowbird 2
Open daily, weather permitting, through June 2. School groups start about 9:30 most weekdays, so come early!
