I looked for the previously reported bird on the bike path South of Timberline in Fort Collins for over 3 hours today. Met Rick Schroeder for the first time (who posted an update today about his Green Big Year) and we both saw a Palm Warbler and a Broad-winged Hawk (dark morph adult). I also got photos of a Loggerhead Shrike.

Rick left, Nick Komar arrived, and I lingered much longer than I intended. The Palm Warbler had disappeared, but persistence paid off. Nick and I found and photographed a male Chestnut-collared Longspur at 6:00pm on our way back to the cars. I would say about 300 yards S of Timberline bridge, easily viewed from the bike path.

About 40 spp for the day, many FOY and my lifer CCLO!!!
