Seen at Lathrop State Park this morning:
Green Heron at the Wetlands pond
Black-crowned Night-Heron near North Martin Inlet
Snowy Egret and American Avocets at the small ponds behind Horseshoe Reservoir
Also seen: a group of 12 small sandpipers in flight...bills appeared dark with streaked sides and bright white rumps...fairly long wings...tails appeared dark...best suspect appears to be White-rumped Sandpiper, but Sibely's would suggest this is highly unlikely.
