Claire Montour and I went to Belmar at noon today and happened upon the gray flycatcher, as described on previous posts, at the north end of the largest pond, very near the parking lot. The downward tail movement was very distinct and it matched other characteristics. Sure appreciate this bird being found and "shared", so to speak.
We had a short time to bird and found no other surprises. In addition to birds listed below, there was what appeared to be a cross between a canada goose and a greater white fronted goose. Is that a regular there?

avocet (aggressive towards blue winged teal)
blue winged teal
tons o'yellow rumped warblers
common yellow throat
spotted sandpiper

red winged blackbird
chipping sparrow
