This morning in Clear Creek County, there were many birds on bodies of water which are normally empty.
At the quarry just west of Empire:
Eared Grebe (1)
Mallard (4)
Blue-winged Teal (1)
Northern Shoveler (4)
Greater Scaup (2 females)
Common Goldeneye (1 female)
Common Merganser (4)
American Coot (5)
Belted Kingfisher
At the large pond which is at the eastern end of Georgetown:
Eared Grebe (3)
White-faced Ibis (1)
Gadwall (4)
American Wigeon (5)
Blue-winged Teal (5)
Northern Pintail (2)
Green-winged Teal (3)
Ruddy Duck (5)
Willet (40)
Marbled Godwit (3)
Least Sandpiper (1)
Wilson's Phalarope (4)
The Willets, godwits, ibis, and the Least Sandpiper were all on the small island near the eastern end of the pond.
Gilpin County was not as productive, but Chase Gulch Reservoir had:
Willet (4)
McCown's Longspur (1 male along the shore)
Roger Linfield
Boulder
