One benefit of birding today was the elk bugling in the far reaches of the Refuge. Also, the antelope rut is in full swing, leading to some close photo ops west of the headquarters.
Unusual bird today was White-throated Sparrow at the Headquarters this morning.
Best news of all is the 2 inches of rain I measured and more in the mountains. As a result, the Refuge is getting ample water now along the Auto Tour Loop...places that have not had water for some time.
Come on down for a visit. It is a great time for wildlife watching...
