[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Lake Banding Report, 10/16 & 17/26

We were hoping that numbers might pick up a bit after two days of rainy weather, but no.  Both Friday and Saturday it has been quite cold early (requiring us to open late both mornings) and then sunny and unseasonably warm by closing time.

Only 16 new birds on Friday:

Hermit Thrush 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 1
Spotted Towhee 1
Swamp Sparrow 1 (FOS)
Song Sparrow 1
White Crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 5
Dark-eyed Junco, Oregon 5

And only 2 birds banded today, Saturday, plus one return:

Song Sparrow 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 1
White-crowned Sparrow, Mountain 1 return, banded 2023

We are in our last week - Open tomorrow (Sunday), then closed Monday and open Tuesday through Friday, when we will take the station down.  Weather permitting.  There are visitor sessions most of these mornings; reservations are needed; here is the link.
