[cobirds] field trip announcement: Telluride! (free bird walk, Wed., Aug. 9)

Hey, everybody.

This is kinda last-minute, and it's not close to Denver, but what's wrong with a little spontaneity in this life, yeah?

Anyhow, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) in Colorado is offering a bird walk, free and open to the public, this coming Wed., Aug. 9, in Telluride, San Miguel Co. We'll get underway at 9am MDT, wrapping up around noon. Our trajectory will be the scenic Galloping Goose Trail, with good birding, even better butterflying, and outrageous landscapes; leader is Yours Truly, with TNC staff. RSVP appreciated. You can just get directly in touch with me to RSVP; or feel free to contact event organizer Alston Williamson with TNC. I'm tfloyd "at" aba "dot" org, and Alston is awilliamson "at" tnc "dot" org.

We'll be meeting at the Keystone Gorge Loop Trailhead; the coordinates appear to be 37.947264, -107.878073. If you ask Siri for "Cindybread Artisan Bakery," that'll get you there, for sure. We'll be walking on a perfectly level trail (almost ridiculously flat, considering that we're in Telluride) on an out-and-back trail that takes us high above the San Miguel River with fantastic views of soaring cliffs and steep ravines. Looks like great country for a California condor; you heard it here first...

Hope to see some of you Wednesday!
