As I hadn’t seen a post here yet, thought I’d drop a line about a singing male NORTHERN PARULA found this morning (Tues., 2 May’23) by Eric Dinkel at Overland Park (SW Denver, Denver Co.). I bumped into Eric who had also found a Palm Warbler, but we couldn’t relocate this bird. Was pretty birdy this morning, so worth a try if you are out. In addition to the Parula, other warblers included ORANGE-CROWNED, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, and YELLOW-RUMPs (Myrtle, Audubon’s, and one hybrid). Other interesting stuff included a couple of SPOTTED SANDPIPERS and a lone SOLITARY, plus a first of season for me WESTERN KINGBIRD.
Good Birding,
Doug
Denver
