[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies Chico Banding Station-May 27, 2023

Today's banding has brought me to the conclusion that spring songbird migration is close to being finished. However, we did catch two MacGillivray's Warblers- a male and a female and of course some Swainson's Thrushes. Otherwise it was a slow day for birds. Still a nice morning to be outside.

15 New Banded Birds
Yellow Warbler- 1
MacGillivray's Warbler- 2
Warbling Vireo- 1
Traill's Flycatcher- 1 ( It keyed out in the overlap region for Willow or Alder Flycatcher)
House Finch-1
Swainson's Thrush- 8
Brown-headed Cowbird -1

No recaptures- The male Hooded Warbler is still singing on site today. What a bird! Glad he has given many folks a chance to see and hear it this past almost couple weeks.
The banding station will be open Monday - Friday next week sunrise to @ 11 AM. This is the last 5 days for the season. Many thanks again to all the volunteers both scheduled and those that pitched in when they saw the need. Your assistance is very much appreciated. Enjoy the Weekend!
