Re: [cobirds] Acadian Flycatcher update

All,

MANY CONGRATULATIONS to Brandon for finding the Acadian Flycatcher yesterday: not an easy identification. Thanks also for letting everyone on Cobirds know promptly, and staying around for several hours helping other people to see the bird. This is the second time this species has been recorded in Colorado, and guess who found the first record.  Yes, Brandon found the bird which was seen at Van's Grove, which is NW of John Martin Res, on 12 May 2009: that bird only stayed for one day.  Reports and photos of that bird by Brandon, Joey Kellner and Bill Maynard can be seen at  https://cobrc.org/Reports/SpeciesDetail.aspx?id=265

The bird was still present and see many yesterday through 740pm at Bell Grove at Chico Basin Ranch.  $15 per person to visit the ranch.  Hope to have an update soon, if it stayed the night.  Other goodies on the ranch yesterday: singing Alder Flycatcher, Philadelphia and Red-eyed Vireos, Hooded and Magnolia Warblers, Ovenbird.
