Re: [cobirds] To Everything Tern Tern Tern

Hello all,

Fun to see! On May 28, 1977, I (along with Steve Larson, Barry Knapp and Bill Lybarger) saw 300 Black Terns at Jumbo (Julesberg) Reservoir, Logan/Sedgwick Co. Always a delight to see them in such numbers.

There is a season tern tern tern. Well it sure seems to be the season in the San Luis Valley. Yesterday I encountered Black Terns at every reservoir in Costilla County.  The highlite was more than 250 at Smith Reservoir, on the sand bar and swarming over the lake like bees near a hive.

And, In case you are wondering, that song is from the "Byrds".
