[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies Banding Chico Basin Ranch- May 2, 2023

There were slightly different birds in the tree/shrub area around the banding station today. Thirteen species banded with a total of 45 individuals. First of the spring was Orange-crowned Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Cooper's Hawk, Clay-colored Sparrow, and Spotted Towhee. The flocks of Chipping Sparrows moved later this morning than yesterday's group.

Common Yellowthroat- 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler (Myrtle Subspecies)- 8
Yellow-ruped Warbler (Audubon's Subspecies)- 1
House Wren-2
Brewer's Sparrow- 5
Chipping Sparrow -12
Lincon's Sparrow -1
Clay-colored Sparrow- 1
White-crowned Sparrow (Gambel's subspecies)- 2
Hermit Thrush -5
Spotted Towhee- 2
Cooper's Hawk (male)- 1

No recaptures or returns.

The Banding station will be open this week Monday - Saturday from sunrise to about 11AM. Please stop by if you are in the area. Have a good day!
