The bird is now on the mudflat to the NE of the outflow still best viewed from the same spot.
I am far from a expert but the bird looks much better for Rock Sandpiper to my eye then Purple Sandpiper. Joey Kellner got flight pics of the bird which hopefully will confirm the identification.
