[cobirds] Bird Conservancy of the Rockies - Barr Banding Report, 10-11-22

On a calm weather day, birds visited our nets at a leisurely pace, with a few birds in each net run.  We had one station rarity - a Marsh Wren - We've only caught 5 in the last 17 years.  Also caught our first Robin of the season.  (Robins are one of a few larger, common birds that we don't usually catch until the end of the season.  We are now eagerly awaiting our first Flicker.)

Here's the breakdown of the 38 new birds caught today:

Downy Woodpecker 1

Marsh Wren 1

Hermit Thrush 3

American Robin 1

Gray Catbird 2

Orange-crowned Warbler 2

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Audubon's 15

Yellow-rumped Warbler, Myrtle 2

Yellow-rumped Warbler, unknown 1

Spotted Towhee 1

Chipping Sparrow 2

Song Sparrow 2 new, 1 banded last year

White-crowned Sparrow, Gambel's 4
